Don’t stop believin’ — because Journey is taking Buffalo along for one more ride.
Tonight, one of the most recognizable bands in rock history takes over KeyBank Center as Journey brings its Final Frontier Tour to Western New York.
After more than five decades of arena anthems, soaring guitar solos and songs that have become part of the soundtrack of multiple generations, Journey is celebrating its legacy with a tour built around the music that made the band a rock institution.
And tonight, there’s no opening act.
It’s An Evening With Journey, giving the band the entire night to dig through a catalog that stretches all the way back to the 1970s.
That catalog is enormous.
“Separate Ways (Worlds Apart).” “Faithfully.” “Open Arms.” “Wheel in the Sky.” “Any Way You Want It.” “Lights.” “Who’s Crying Now.”
And, of course, there’s a certain song about a small-town girl and a city boy that will almost certainly have every voice inside KeyBank Center singing along.
At the center of it all remains founding guitarist Neal Schon, whose playing has helped define Journey’s sound for more than 50 years, alongside longtime keyboardist Jonathan Cain and vocalist Arnel Pineda, who has carried the band’s famously demanding vocal catalog onstage for nearly two decades.
But the Final Frontier Tour isn’t simply about revisiting the hits.
It’s a celebration of everything Journey has built — the records, the tours, the massive choruses and generations of fans who have kept these songs alive long after they first hit the radio.
